ELEMENT HOLDING continues to support the Eurocode reform and, in partnership with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), is launching a new initiative.
To promote economic resilience in Georgia and enhance quality infrastructure within the industrial sector, GIZ is implementing the EU- and German Government–funded project “QUIS – Better Product, Better Service.”
Within this framework, ADVANCING EUROCODE KNOW-HOW FOR THE INDUSTRY GROWTH IN GEORGIA will be implemented. The project will engage international experts who will deliver training to 25 structural engineers from 15 companies. The training program will include both theoretical and practical components. In addition, the initiative envisages the translation, adaptation, and preparation of electronic versions of Eurocodes (0, 1, 2, and 8). The project also incorporates mechanisms aimed at raising awareness of Eurocodes within the construction sector.
The planned activities will be implemented over a one-year period. Based on the outcomes of the project, an analytical study of the construction sector in relation to Eurocodes will be prepared. This research will serve as a set of recommendations and as a supportive foundation for future steps and initiatives in this field.
ELEMENT HOLDING began supporting the Eurocode reform in 2023. Together with its partners, the company has implemented a number of significant activities, including the engagement of international experts, training-of-trainers programs, and informational meetings across Georgia. Through this new project, we once again reaffirm the sustainability of our goal – to contribute to the transformation of construction standards and the systemic development of the sector,”said Zakro Ebelashvili, General Director of ELEMENT HOLDING.
“Ensuring high-quality construction works is essential for creating safe and reliable infrastructure. By strengthening competence in Eurocodes and promoting the adoption of European standards, this project will contribute to improving quality and competitiveness in the construction sector. The initiative also envisages close cooperation with sectoral associations, which is crucial for achieving successful results,”
said Christian Kaufhold, Project Manager of ‘QUIS – Better Product, Better Service.’
The partners of the project ADVANCING EUROCODE KNOW-HOW FOR THE INDUSTRY GROWTH IN GEORGIA are the Infrastructure Construction Companies Association (ICCA), the Structural Engineers Association of Georgia (SEAG), and the Georgian Construction Materials Cluster (GCMC).
The planned activities were officially presented by ELEMENT HOLDING to stakeholders interested in the process on December 10.
